STYLE GURU STYLE: My Lace Or Yours?

April 7th, 2015 at 2:00am

Edgy, contrasting black lace is covering the spring 2015 season, showing that maybe black is perfect for all seasons? (Plus it matches my soul…) Well, obviously, I’m not Dior, but I can still look up to his spring runway show for inspiration! Layered lace all over, sleeves adding a covered-up-but-not look-what more could I ask for?

When the opportunity arose for me to show CollegeFashionista a little bit of my personal style, I ran to the trendiest piece in my closet right now. Rompers are useful for everything: playful dates, nights on the town and awkward temperature situations. Like I said, I live for wearing black, so the color choice was easy. As for my shoes? I chose cobalt blue flats! I know, fashion laws everywhere swear off navy and black, but this brighter, bolder color pops against black and brightens up your outfit (and day!)

While the sleeves of my outfit are awesome, unexpected and make me look cooler than I really am, the back is my favorite. Over what may not be the most muscular back, the higher neckline makes me look a little more delicate and detailed; the keyhole piece missing from the lace lets me show off a little more skin. Rompers are important pieces in my closet this season, spicing up outfits and making one piece determine my entire look. The less clothes I have to pick out when I’m running late, the better.

Get My Look: 1. Black, black jumpsuits or rompers adorned with lace. 2. Think pink lipstick. 3. Cobalt shoes to contrast.
