STYLE GURU STYLE: Max Travel Style And Efficiency

Hello Fashionistas/os! I don’t know about you all, but I’ve been doing a decent amount of traveling lately. Traveling always presents one challenge for me: attire. I’m either too cold or too warm, have too many accessories or too little, the list is endless. Alas, after much trial and error I finally found something that works for me and I hope it can work for you too. My inspiration came from the incredible Awaveawake fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection where maxi dresses were the primary element. All of the designer’s pieces were bold and natural color, sophisticated, highly versatile (day to night approved) and beautifully tailored, yet free flowing.

That’s when it hit me. Traveling in a maxi dress (or skirt) is ingenious, as it is a happy medium in moderating temperature and if you’re likely to fret about the probable chills (I know I always am), you can simply throw on a great jacket. This is a simple, surefire way to travel most efficiently in style!

So naturally before my most recent trip I tested it out. I’m a wearing a maxi dress with a couple areas of added detail: side slits and a modest open back (they are huge on the trend scene right now). I prefer my dresses to have the versatility of side slits because it allows for easier movement. That way if you’re walking up/down a flight of stairs you can easily pull the front out of the way to eliminate a tripping hazard. I then paired it with my favorite denim jacket, which also just so happens to add a sunny pop of color (always a joyful plus), and incredibly comfortable chunky heeled sandals. I chose to lightly accessorize this outfit and keep it simple, but it is equally charming to add an extra dose of jewels too! When traveling I always find it key to dress in a way that makes you feel like most like you-chic and fabulous!
