STYLE GURU STYLE: Marching Into Spring

Hello, Style Gurus! Spring is my favorite season for many reasons including the bright landscapes and happy attitudes it brings to the table.

Kentucky seems to awaken in color and liveliness in the springtime and nothing can cure your spring fever better than an outfit to match. This look is perfect for spending the day exploring local coffee shops and thrift stores. After spending months on my “Clothing Inspiration” Pinterest boards, I am so excited that mules have once again found their way into the spotlight. They are extremely versatile and not to mention comfortable. I channeled my inner Beyonce with a yellow top. What I love about this top is the color. Yellow is such an underrated color and is often met with the fear of looking like a giant banana. The only thing that is B-A-N-A-N-A-S is being afraid to wear a color! There are so many beautiful shades of yellow, and it really is all about finding one that complements your skin tone.

Under my top, I wore a bralette and added my favorite pair of jeans because you cannot go wrong with a comfy bralette and a pair of boyfriend jeans! For an easy day-to-night transition, swap out those jeans for a skirt and you will instantly be ready for a GNO. For me, the most daring element of this look is my black lipstick. I was hesitant to put it on, but once I did I was truly feeling myself. Although, my purse was filled with makeup remover and lipstick liner because you can never be too prepared. Right now my favorite accessory is all about personality. I am loving monogrammed bracelets and necklaces because they add character to any outfit and also MAJOR Carrie Bradshaw vibes.
My advice to you this spring is to step out of your comfort zone and try wearing something new. After all, you’re going to have extra room in your closet after doing some spring cleaning. Why not celebrate the end of winter and reward yourself? You deserve it!
