STYLE GURU STYLE: Long Over Long

I’m all about finding pieces that are versatile. I think it’s so fun to find a detailed and unique piece then go back to my closet at home and see what styles well with it. I’ve always wanted to do a post encouraging others to pair dresses with jeans. The idea is to turn your dress into a tunic. So, when I was looking on Vogue for some outfit inspiration, I saw that Rachel Comey featured a model wearing a dress over some loose fitting jeans in her pre-fall 2016 fashion show. It was a loose look and I loved it. This look is something I have noticed becoming more and more popular today.

I used to be so afraid I would look frumpy if I wore something long and flowy over jeans. This thought process has changed over time. Now I’m not afraid to mix similar lengths. Do a shorter crop top with some shorts or a long tunic with some long pants. I love this Free People tunic because of the bright print on it and also because it’s flowy. For most girls this can pass as a shorter dress. Because I’m so tall, this dress counts as a tunic for me. I grabbed a pair of jeans and some new sneakers to go with my outfit. I loved how the bright white contrasted the darker top and made the look a little more casual. You can put the dress with any wash of denim.

Get My Look: 1. Any fun dress. 2. A classic pair of jeans. 3. Some sneakers.
