STYLE GURU STYLE: Laced-Up with Fall Hues

October 31st, 2016 at 2:07am

The leaves are starting to change colors, there’s a chill in the air and the season of pumpkin spice is here! Time to rotate your summer clothes into storage and bring the sweaters out. ‘Tis the season of layering! Layering a cardigan and a military jacket is the cutest way to dress up any old T-shirt you just want to throw on. Comfortability and style in one look? Talk about every Fashionista’s dream.

When I saw Roberto Cavalli’s fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection, I was instantly obsessed. It’s like Roberto Cavalli was speaking straight to my heart with the combination of velvet, silk, fur, lace, leather and embroidery incorporated in this collection. All of the sensual dark hues worn together in one look really spoke to my inspiration for this spooky season.
Pairing a leather-trimmed pair of embroidered shorts with a crushed velvet bodysuit was entirely inspired by Cavalli’s collection. I added a little bit of layering with my favorite color of the season (mustard yellow) and a vintage denim jacket. My lace choker brings the embroidery together along with this antique ring I thrifted! Roberto Cavalli’s collection this fall is everything I love about fashion: incorporating the new with the old and layering different textures on top of each other.

My lace-up thigh high boots are the essential of the season! Paired over jeans, with stockings or shorts: they’re super versatile and a big statement to any outfit! I hope that you embrace some of the dark hues of the season and try a new statement piece because when we venture out of our comfort zones is when beautiful, fun things can happen.

It’s the spookiest time of the year and finding some inspiration from Roberto Cavalli’s collection with velvet and lace may have been the best thing that’s happened to my fall aesthetic yet. There’s always some fun inspiration in looking to what styles are walking down the runway! Giving you witches and warlocks some encouragement to venture out of your comfort zone and try something new with your fall look!
