STYLE GURU STYLE: Is It Fall Yet?

‘Tis the season for apple picking, beautiful leaves, pumpkin carving, bonfires, hot chocolate and, of course, the cutest fall outfits. There is nothing like a giant cozy sweater, over-the-knee boots, skinny jeans, an oversized scarf and cute accessories to make you ready to pack away the summer clothes and fall into fall fashion.

In Harrisonburg, VA, where James Madison University is located, the fall weather has been much warmer than one would expect fall temperatures to be. The days are hot and the nights are warm enough to just need a light jacket. Although I love my summer weather and clothes, I’m ready for the temperatures to change so I can transition my wardrobe into the best of fall fashion.

Due to the warmer-than-usual temperatures in Harrisonburg, I went with a mix of a summer and fall style in my featured outfit. I started with my destroyed boyfriend jeans, which is a perfect choice for when it’s still warm out because they give your legs breathing room to not get overheated. I paired the jeans with an off-the-shoulder top, which has been my go-to look for the past few months. There is no way I’m giving this essential up, even as the temperatures change!

I decided to pair the look with wedges to give it a classy and trendy look. I’m just a girl chasing her dreams… in great shoes, of course.

For accessories, I added my favorite Michael Kors purse and a pair of sunglasses. I purposely kept the look simple to give it a more laid-back fall feel.

I can’t wait to see what trends start popping up as the temperatures continue to get colder and colder.
