STYLE GURU STYLE: Got The Vest of Me

When people think of fall colors, I think it is safe to say that most people think of greens and browns and soft oranges; basically any color that is probably coming off of a tree. Then, you also have the people that are wearing all-black everything and have been wearing all black all year, regardless of the season. I like these people. If you ask me, you can never beat the all-black combo: in style, not trees. That would make for a really depressing tree, but that also might look really cool. Anyways, back to the point.

For this look, I took inspiration from the Coach fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. I was specifically inspired by the later looks of the show that used mainly, all black outfits and added a staple coat or vest to add a subtle pop of pattern or color. Although, what stood out to me most about this collection is that, to me at least, it just screams confidence. Maybe there is just something about wearing all black that makes you look like a bad a**, but the combination of combat boots and fur vests just wins me over. So, if you are ever having one of those days where you are just not feeling yourself too much, throw on some all-black and a killer lipstick. These are cure-alls.

To attempt to infuse this collection into my style, I paired this faux leather skirt with a simple black, loose long sleeve T-shirt. Over it, I opted for this olive green winter vest. Yes, I consider this a winter vest. Remember that this is Florida. I chose to pair this with black combat boots, of course. Because of the overall darkness of the outfit, I chose to keep my makeup light with just eyeliner, mascara and a nude lip.

Get My Look: 1. A black skater skirt. 2. Black combat boots. 3. A vest or coat.
