STYLE GURU STYLE: Fun In Floral

Black is a color I will wear no matter what season it is and I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t the most prominent color in my wardrobe. While it’s common to stick to brighter colors in the springtime, the Alexander McQueen spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection understands my black clothing obsession. While still utilizing darker pieces, this line features dynamic floral patterns that stand out when placed on black dresses. Black accessories are evident in this line, which just adds to the sophistication of the collection as a whole. With flowers, dresses and black accessories, what’s not to love about this fun spring collection?

As mentioned above, the standout piece for this look was a black dress with a floral pattern. I whipped out my sundress that came closest to the pieces featured in the collection. McQueen used black accessories to tie together the overall theme of the look so I did as well. Black flats were cute and simple for this day look and also super easy to walk around campus in. Similarly, my black sunglasses were a must on this bright and sunny day.

I wanted to add my own flare to this outfit, so I handpicked some of my favorite spring accessories. A denim jacket is the perfect staple piece for the warmer weather, I know I personally couldn’t live without mine. Lastly I topped things off with my silver dangling earrings and with that my look was complete. McQueen’s collection gave me some great inspiration and I’ll be sure to keep utilizing his style sense in my wardrobe.
