STYLE GURU STYLE: Fab In Fringe

My personal style has always erred on the more classic side, so when new bold trends show up on the runway, i’m hesitant to try them. One exception to this is the latest ’70s revival that has become so popular as of late. I chose to embrace this vintage throwback with a fringe embellished T-shirt. I made the outfit weather appropriate by adding a jean jacket which adds to the ’70s vibe.To achieve a more understated look, I ended the outfit with a pair of black straight leg AG Jeans.

What I love about this trend is, the freedom for adaptation. Andrew Gn’s latest fall 2015 ready-to-wear show was full of his take on a modern ’70s silhouette including fringe, long Grecian dresses, and vintage colors. His mixing of textures was such an unexpected twist that provided a lot of inspiration.

The great thing about this trend is that you can mix and match ’70s components with other trends, or go all out in head to toe fringe, suede and flare jeans. Either way, this trend is a fresh change from the skinny silhouette that has dominated for many years. Another great component of the look are all the great colors and fabrics that have been brought back in focus. Including suede, leather, mustard yellow, guava green and royal blues just to name a few. Everyone loves to play dress up, and this trend is a great outlet for it along with a bit of whimsy.
