STYLE GURU STYLE: Embroidered Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.

The weather is warming up and thinking about anything besides nice walks in the park or strolls down the beach is becoming increasingly more difficult. I can picture the scenery: vivid, colorful landscapes all around, the sounds of birds chirping, dogs barking and kids playing. To match the lively surroundings, a colorful printed cloth that is just as vivid and playful is a must. Tory Burch‘s spring 2016 ready-to-wear is the perfect collection that does the job. Her prints feature Latin American-inspired floral embroidery with loose frames and bright colors.

Taking inspiration from her designs, I decided to wear a floral embroidered top. The colors on this top are quite vivid and create a strong statement. While Tory Burch’s pieces are more “prep-friendly,” my personal style shies away from this. To make this trend my own, I paired the top with a classic pair of mom jeans, which provide me with comfort and the causal, everyday look I prefer.

All of the looks in this collection were styled with peep-toe sandals. To follow this I wore my own pair of peep-toe sandals, rather than a pair of sneakers, in order to avoid having the look appear too casual. The sandals enhance the femininity of the print which also helps add an essence of sophistication that comes with every Tory Burch piece. For my accessories I decided to wear creme pearl earrings which match the color of the blouse. To top it all off I protected my eyes from UV-rays with a pair of brown aviator sunglasses.

Florals for spring may not be groundbreaking, but embroidered florals for spring might be the touch an outfit needs to take florals one step further. This trend is playful and easy to wear whether it’s with a top like mine, a dress or pants.

Get My Look: 1. An embroidered floral piece. 2. Denim cut-offs. 3. Peed-toe sandals.
