STYLE GURU STYLE: Colorless Spring

As the East Coast finally catches up to everyone else’s warm spring weather, pastel colors and floral patterns are finding their way back into current trends. With spring break already underway, college students across the country are breaking out their spring and summer styles for this semester. However, since Maryland weather has been as unpredictable as ever, I have been extremely hesitant to pull out my tank tops quite yet. I decided to keep my outfits as weather friendly as possible, quite frankly preparing for anything.

For the outfit of the day, I chose to keep the look as simple as possible. I picked up a ruffled T-shirt and paired it with a pair of plain black jeans and simple black booties. Since I have absolutely no clue what the weather could be doing, I chose a distressed denim jacket in case temperatures dropped during the evening. Sticking to black and white, I did not want to jump the gun on my spring wardrobe filled with light pinks and sky blues. This outfit in particular is the easiest to dress up or down by adding the right jewelry or a simple switch to sneakers.

After the long winter, the majority of my wardrobe contains gray, black, and white clothing so I chose to stick with this trend before a major clothing remodel. Yay for spring cleaning! This look is achievable for any Fashionista looking for a quick and simple outfit for any activities. Since the outfit is void of any color, I let my makeup do the talking. To add a pop of color to any outfit, try a standout lip shade or a blend of eyeshadow colors to really brighten the look and contrast with the white shirt.

You can never go wrong with black and white in any season!
