While planning for a weekend getaway to Nashville, Tennessee, I noticed the weather was going to be on the chillier end of the spectrum. It was hard to only pack for three days without knowing exactly what I was going to do. Whether it be going out for a fancy dinner, going to a concert or even just walking around Broadway listening to the live bands, I literally had no idea what to pack. As I was completing my packing, I thought about Tod’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection and remembered that I had a cute, zippered, trench coat that replicated this look on the runway.
I knew once I remembered that I had this jacket from Caroll, that it would be the best decision to take it to Nashville. The sleek, smooth texture of the coat just screams chic. After all, who wouldn’t want to be chic walking around in the city? It was the perfect way for me to stand out from the crowd full of cowboy boots and cowboy hats, while also staying warm in the chilly temperatures. The brownish-beige tone of the jacket also helped me to match many different warm and cool colors to create a feminine ensemble. Did I mention the detailing on the coat? It is fabulous. The asymmetrical zipper in the middle and the zippers on the arms help to bring a different look to the trench-coat-style jacket.
Pairing this jacket with an American Eagle Outfitters bright flannel shirt was a great decision. It helped the look from being mostly neutral and monochromatic. The greens, blue, purples and pinks really helped to give a pop of color to my look. The LOFT crystal necklace really helped to add a sparkle to my outfit when the sun was out. To finish off my look, I wore plain black leggings and cute ballet flats. The flats have extra padding in them to ensure that no matter how long I walked for, I will still be comfortable. As for accessories, my Michael Kors wristlet was functional and easy to carry around. That wristlet was the perfect place for my iPhone, money and credit cards.
No matter where the weekend takes you, don’t forget to be chic and versatile. Investing in a jacket like mine will never bring about buyer’s remorse. Also, remember to check the weather wherever you plan on going for the weekend. It will most definitely influence what you pack in your suitcase.
