STYLE GURU STYLE: Calming The Patterns Down

Ever get tired of mixing and matching monochromatic colors? Want to spice it up without overdoing it? Well, the alice + olivia spring 2015 ready-to-wear runway show collection will sweep you off of your feet. This runway show exposed numerous ways to rock your favorite patterns without having to make a serious statement. With their effortless incorporation of patterns and colors you will want to wear a similar look every day. Stacey Bendet, alice + olivia’s designer, was influenced by the modern art inspirations from Versailles. She incorporates paintings and photos taken during her trip to Versailles. These prints came out flawless and unique. As a Fashionista myself, I love to keep it monochromatic and sleek, but Bendet shows how to experiment with bold colors and patterns while not overdoing your look.

So, I decided to try it out! I picked out a loud patterned pair of pants that I have been itching to wear. I did not want to overdo the pattern look, so I followed Bendet’s example by remaining simple on the top. Sticking with a flowy white tank top was my best bet. I finished off the look with a neutral, glossy pair of sandals.

This spring 2015 ready-to-wear show inspired me to take chances and wear those bold patterns that have been tucked away in my closet. This fashion show revealed to me that wearing a pattern does not always mean you have to make a statement. I am definitely going to pull out a lot of my fun patterns this spring!

Get My Look: 1. A simple, beachy tank top. 2. A colorful, printed pant. 3. A neutral pair of sandals.
