It’s finally truly summer! How excited are all of you? I know I am. I found the cutest dress and I am obsessed with it. Seriously, I can’t stop wearing it.
Inspired by the Giamba resort 2017 collection, I felt like my dress was similar in terms of print and it’s fit-and-flare style on the sleeves. I love their use of color and I especially love that they mix prints! I’ve always felt like mixing prints was too bold, but they do it beautifully. The one thing that intrigued me the most was that the models wore sparkly pumps with every outfit, which inspired me to wear my stand-out platform sandals. If it was a tactic used to catch the eye, it definitely caught mine!
I accessorized my dress with some chunky platform sandals and a matching cross-body with gold hardware and tassels. It seems like everyone’s wearing platforms these days, even if they aren’t heels. I love that the ’70s and ’90s are coming back with new prints: fit-and-flare dresses, floral accents, chokers, platforms and jellies. Yep, you heard me right, jellies are back. I am more than thrilled!
I never really left the ’90s. When I say I never really left, I mean I have a neon pink inflatable chair in our storage unit and I never got rid of my VCR. I also have the occasional ’90s movie night with my mom. She loves it. Also, I may or may not have had a Clueless themed, “as if” 21st waltz, but that’s a different story for a different day.
Back to my outfit, I got this dress from a local store in my hometown and both my sandals and cross-body were from Nordstrom. The dress was a steal for only $69 and my sandals were actually on sale! I will link those below. To complete my look, I obviously had to have big, wavy curls and a bright MAC cosmetics lipstick. I’m not one that likes to blend in, so I have my own style and I’m not ashamed of it. If you have a pair of sparkly pumps, rock them! Don’t be shameful. Chances are, if people are staring, they’re either jealous or thinking about what they have in their closet so they can steal your style! Either way, you’ll be a statement!
