STYLE GURU STYLE: Asymmetrical Wonder

Whenever Stella McCartney rolls out a new runway show, I go crazy and can’t help but wish my wallet was bigger. McCartney’s looks are always inventive, fresh and unique. Her fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection was chock full of fluid shapes and gorgeous patterns. She used a color palette of various shades of grey, creme, with bright neons thrown into the mix. The clothes she creates exude confidence and are perfect for the girls out there who run the world.

Asymmetrical hemlines, green jewel tones and flowing dresses were all a few highlights from the show which influenced my look. My favorite look of the show was the first. The hemline of the models jacket seems magical and ideal for any season. What stood out most to me from McCartney’s show was the gorgeous wooly jackets strewn about the runway and the asymmetrical hemlines that came with them. It’s amazing how impactful a hemline can be. It has the ability to transform a classic staple such as a winter jacket or sweater and transform it into an outfit of whimsy.

For a casual everyday look, I wanted to show how versatile an asymmetrical cardigan can be. I feel like sometimes playing with different hemlines can be a bit daunting but I wanted to keep things simple and clean. I chose to pair my grey cardigan with a green and white striped T-shirt dress and classic black tennis shoes. However, an asymmetrical cardigan can be paired with almost anything. A scarf, T-Shirt and jeans or statement necklace—the options are endless.

Get My Look: 1. Asymmetrical cardigan. 2. T-shirt dress. 3. High-top sneakers.
