STYLE GURU STYLE: Anything but Basic

Fall is my favorite season of the year for many reasons, and one of those reasons is definitely the fashion trends! From suede skirts and lace up sweaters to fall florals and bomber jackets, the trends for this fall season are probably some of my favorites to date.

Although dressing up in the latest trends is ideal, it’s not always practical, especially when walking around campus all day! That’s why most of the time I find myself going back to the basics with my day to day fall outfits. They key to making your basic pieces anything but basic is layering! Layering different pieces can make a simple outfit look effortlessly put together.

For this layered look I paired my favorite high-waist black skinny jeans with a burnt orange long sleeve shirt. One thing I love about this shirt (and the reason I own it in three different colors), is that it’s made of a thin material that makes it perfect for layering! I also threw on one of my favorite fall staples that keeps making a comeback each year: the utility jacket. It’s perfect for wearing over any outfit and the olive green color definitely screams fall!

One of my latest fashion trend obsessions is wearing sneakers. Not only are they comfortable, but when paired with the right outfit, the perfectly achieve that casual yet stylish look that everyone loves! My favorite pair of sneakers to achieve that look are definitely these adidas. They are super comfortable and go with just about everything!
