STYLE GURU STYLE: All-Black Everything

If you hadn’t already known, I love the color black. That is my go-to color. This color just speaks so many things. It can be practical, classy, mysterious and rebellious all at the same time. So when I saw Saint Laurent went with a black-colored theme for their fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection, it immediately became one of my favorite shows.

This line reminded me of something from the ’80s because of the short bodycon dresses along with extravagant details along the shoulders. The primary color was black mixed with pops of bright colors. I do love the color black but I can appreciate a nice bright color to make an outfit stand out. To continue this ’80s theme, the outfits were decked out in sequins, metallic colors and big, chunky belts.

To incorporate this line into my own style I decided to wear a black turtleneck with black ripped jeans and black flats. Turtlenecks are becoming a favorite in my wardrobe. They have a way of making your outfit look more sophisticated without having to go out of your way and actually dressing up. In my opinion, black skinny jeans are a must have. They match with basically everything and if you’re trying to make your outfit a bit classier, you’re definitely going to want to wear black jeans instead of blue jeans. I decided to pair this outfit with a chunky double-sided belt. This belt might be my favorite accessory item that I have. It can add style to any outfit. You could wear this belt with plain jeans and a white T-shirt and your outfit would still look chic and fashionable. And finally to add a pop of color, I decided to wear my Kendra Scott hot pink earrings.

Get My Look: 1. Turtleneck. 2. Double-sided belt. 3. Hot pink earrings. 4. Ballerina flats.
