STYLE GURU STYLE: Addicted To Skirts

For those of you who know me, you know I love skirts. I have more of them hanging in my closet than any other clothing item, and I see nothing wrong with that! Normally, I gravitate towards A-line, girly skirts decked out in floral patterns and pastel colors. However, with the fall season coming up, my style has started to change right along side the temperature.

After watching rag & bone’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear fashion show, I fell in love with a new type of skirt—a more rugged, sleek and neutral style. The collection was filled with structure, exposed zippers, patterns and military-inspired pieces like my olive green textured skirt. The skirt’s versatility was what made me fall in love. I could see it paired with anything and being either dressed up and down.

I choose to wear the skirt with a leather and cotton blouse covered in my favorite pattern: stripes. The combination of neutral colors and simple textures seemed effortless and screamed “fall ready.” The silver zipper added a funky element to the outfit that I loved. I finished the look with a vintage silver and onyx bracelet, as well as a classic leather banded watch. These black heeled sandals were the perfect shoe to wear with the outfit. Skirts paired with heels make my legs look as long as ever, and what woman wouldn’t want that?
