STYLE GURU BIO: Sara Defibaugh

One thing that most people don’t know about Ohio University is its weather patterns. Our summer lasts through September, leaving our fall months a bit short (to my dismay). So, how does one cope? Well, hello, my name is Sara Defibaugh, and this fall semester I will be introducing to all you Fashionistas out there how to combine summer styles with fall fashion!

Fall is one of my favorite seasons because of the fashion in particular: cozy sweaters, leggings, jeans and the colors (I LOVE IT). Take the dress that yours truly is wearing above: a light, summer dress with a touch of fall colors and a fall pattern—perfect for those Athens days when the mornings start off being 68 and end at a sometimes sweltering 80 (the heat and I are not friends). Pair it with complimenting gladiator sandals, and you’re off!

Now, you will find I’m not a huge jewelry person. I enjoy outfits that are simple and to the point, yet are flattering and put together. If I do wear jewelry, it probably holds the same qualities—which is why I love my Alex and Ani bracelets. They tend to flatter nearly any outfit you have on, and I love seeing the collections that people have acquired!

Another very specific touch to this look is my hair—as you can probably tell the humidity has definitely taken it’s toll, but what’s summer without some humidity? During the summer months, I embrace my natural hair, and let its freak fly! All I’ve done to it is straighten a few wild baby hairs and wahla! While we are all Fashionistas here, I for one enjoy the simplicity of letting the seasons define your looks, which is the transition this outfit certainly expresses here!
