STYLE GURU BIO: Samie Thaler

Hey there, readers! Since you’re here I can only assume I’ve sent you this link or you’re a dedicated fan so thank you for taking the time to read my very first post!

As cheesy as this may sound, I’ve been a Fashionista since birth; I remember that even at a young age I was picking out my own outfits and giving unsolicited advice about my family members’ choices. I used to make sketches of outfits I’d make when I became a fashion designer, and in high school I was voted best dressed. But as I grew up, this dream was put on the back-burner and I focused more on school and less on creative outlets.

I came to the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis without a clue in the world of what I wanted to study so during my freshman year when I found out about the retail merchandising program I was elated. It had everything I was looking for: fashion, creativity, real life application and even a minor from the business school. It feels like I just started so it’s crazy to think that I’m about to start my last year of school and be headed off into the real world of retail soon enough.

Since starting my major I’ve become even more interested in fashion, and especially trends in the Minneapolis area. My style can be described as classic feminine with an edgy twist. I love wearing classic pieces and giving them a new look by pairing them with an interesting accessory or pair of shoes. Being a college and sorority girl I have the chance to dress for a million different types of occasions and different styles come out depending on where I am, who I’m with and what we’re doing.

Thanks for reading. I can’t wait to get started blogging this fall!
