STYLE GURU BIO: Peyton Roy

Hello, Fashionistas/os. My name is Peyton, and I am an apparel merchandising major at Washington State University. I am honored to start my first semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru. Fashion (and coffee) is my addiction and has been for most of my life.

As a Seattle native I have had all sorts of style influences, from business to hipster and even grunge. Because of that I seem to have a bit of a commitment phobia; my style is all over the place! My closet is loaded with everything. I dress based on my mood, which is something a lot of people should try more often. Confidence and comfort go hand in hand, and a lot of people wear clothing they’re not comfortable in just because it’s what is expected. No matter what trend or style I am inclined toward that particular day, comfort is always a top priority.

This outfit is a reflection of that. Washington is definitely having one of its colder winters, and investing in a nice warm wool or wool blend coat is a must. The one I am wearing in the photos above is a bit dressier, and to make a more casual look I paired it with my go-to ripped skinny jeans and a black thermal top. I am currently in love with this burgundy/maroon color and was ecstatic when I found both boots and a scarf in it. The deep colors really remind me of fall and winter, and the scarf definitely helped to block the wind.

I am so excited to begin this journey with CollegeFashionista. Stay tuned for more articles about my ever changing style and the amazing Fashionistas/os on and around my campus!
