STYLE GURU BIO: Olivia Stauber

Hi there, my name Olivia Stauber! My entire life thus far has been focused on one goal— immerse myself in fashion and keep it that way no matter what. You might be wondering what I’m doing here down at the University of Miami but worry not, I have found a way to keep myself catapulted towards this goal. I am moving into the position of Fashion Editor at the lifestyle magazine here and cannot wait to infuse my tropical and edgy style into the spreads.

I would describe my personal style as contemporary edge. I love mixing high and low items like a CÉLINE purse with a black ripped up dress I got off Tobi, or as shown in this look, a top from Brandy Melville and snake patterned slacks from Topshop. Although this look may be a little more preppy for my personal style, I wanted to point out the snakeskin texture in the pants. An outfit is not complete in my mind without and infusion of rocker chic.

As a photography major, I look up to the visual geniuses in the fashion world. I enjoy Karl Lagerfeld and Olivier Rousteing’s creative vision for Balmain. I hope one day I can have a hand in all aspects of fashion’s creative vision. After all, fashion is not just what you wear or a way to show who you are to the world, it is so much more than that. Fashion is art, art is fashion: interchangeable and able to change the world.

That being said, I am so excited to start the fall 2016 semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I hope I can showcase my personal style and how closely related it is to art.
