STYLE GURU BIO: Molly Wertheimer

Hello fellow Fashionistas! I’m so excited to be representing the University of Minnesota as a Style Guru this coming semester. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I’m a midwest girl through thick and thin. I love the cities of Minneapolis and Milwaukee because of the overall diversity when it comes to the people, restaurants, and of course, fashion. Each part of these cities showcase different cultures and styles, so luckily I’m never lacking inspiration for my own style.

I’m a junior majoring in retail merchandising with minors in psychology and business management. I’ve been into fashion and beauty for most of my life and love that I can major in something I’m so passionate about. To me, fashion is about self expression and confidence. Putting yourself together and looking good is so empowering and helps me be the best I can be every day.

It’s really hard to define my style because I’m so all over the place. However, the outfit featured I’m wearing is definitely an example of my go-to outfit. Ripped jeans with a basic top, spiced up with a fur vest and some jewelry–in this case, a choker. I would say that my most loved items from 2016 were my vests. My collection consists of utility, suede, fringe, fur, and leather vests, and I can honestly say I have way too many! The one constant in my ever-changing style is the color black. I’m not one to wear much color, and no one can deny that black apparel is the easiest to wear no matter the occasion (or lack there of).

I can’t wait to write more articles for all you Fashionistas out there! I hope 2017 is a year of fashion exploration and inspiration for you all.
