STYLE GURU BIO: Molly Farrell

Hi there, my name is Molly Farrell and I am currently a student at St. Norbert College studying Communication with a concentration in Media. I hope my future career incorporates both media and fashion, two worlds I enjoy very much.

When I am not picking out and planning future outfits to sport around campus, I am spending time with my family who constantly inspire me, and my friends who always keep me laughing. I live outside Chicago, a city that I believe is truly one of the best. With a fresh cool breeze off of Lake Michigan on a hot summer day, I fall in love with the city more and more each time I set foot on its vibrant streets. I enjoy exploring the city and finding interesting restaurants to dine at or taking in the magnificent view the city has. I look forward on taking multiple trips to the city this summer because it’s a guaranteed good time.

Fashion has always been a joy of mine and a strong, unique part of who I am as a young adult in today’s world. I have enjoyed cultivating my sense of style and fashion skills by helping organize the annual fashion show at my high school two years ago, which involved constructing the set of the runway and consulting with each of the models in what they were going to wear. Also, I enjoyed designing costumes for multiple shows in theater.

I get my style inspiration from multiple magazines such as Vogue, Glamour, and W magazine. It has always been a great resource for me to keep up with the ongoing trends of the season and see what the fashion world will showcase next. Ever since I was young, I have looked up to the designer icon, Coco Chanel, for her endless drive to create fashion that was timeless and memorable. Coco Chanel once said, “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” And I could not agree more.

Today I am wearing, a white lace sleeveless shirt and teal shorts to bring out fun colors for the summer. I am also wearing a multi-colored jeweled necklace to add a little sparkly pop. Look out for more ways to work the summer palette while staying cool, both at work and at play.

I cannot be more thrilled to be a Style Guru at CollegeFashionista this summer. I am looking forward to sharing with all of you how you beat the heat in comfortable, but fashion forward outfits that will make your summer sweeter. Here’s to a stylish summer!
