STYLE GURU BIO: Mia Amaranto

Hey, there! My name is Mia and I am so thrilled to be back for my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! This summer, I started my first ever fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog and realized that I want to pursue my true passion in life which is in the world of fashion. I am going to be a sophomore this year at Western Washington University and I have decided to major in Business Marketing as a way to help me work toward a future career in Fashion Marketing.

When I talk about a career in business and fashion, my parents have always told me that it’s unrealistic and that it’s just a far-fetched dream. However, I believe that with great passion comes great success. So, this upcoming school year, I will also be participating in a fashion certificate program with Parsons and Teen Vogue. I will also be working hard towards my major to help me set the foundations for my dream job.

This past summer quarter here at Western was an exciting season for fashion. Now that the transition into fall is in full gear, my style personally is slowly starting to change to looks that are more monochromatic and minimalistic, and I am steering towards more neutral-toned clothing. I am also inspired by a lot of street style fashions, so I have really been loving edgy details like the black panels on this knit sweater and my distressed denim shorts. Recent runway shows like Valentino have also been on my radar and it inspired my choice in lace-up gladiator sandals for this look.

With this CollegeFashionista Style Guru internship this fall, I hope to continue to grow, learn and have fun with fellow Style Gurus and the directors. I am looking forward to a semester full of warm and cozy looks, pumpkin spice, new friends and the trendy new styles this season!
