Hello readers! My name is Marie Villanova, and I’m a fashion design freshman at the Fashion Institute of Technology, in New York City. I am 18 years old and, before moving to the “capital of the world”, I lived in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.
Fashion has always been a big part of my life. The modeling industry gave me the exposure to fashion design, that has become my passion. Just being able to see how the shows worked and how the designers expressed themselves through their clothes and illustrations motivated me and gave me the interest to pursue the career of fashion design. Through all the effort and hard work, I am now where I want to be, doing what I aspire to do. My favorite designers are Alexander Mcqueen, Zuhair Murad, Valentino, Ralph & Russo and Elie Saab.
