STYLE GURU BIO: Mariam Eatedali

Hi there! My name is Mariam Eatedali (Ate-a-dali). I’m a sophomore with a Political Science and Journalism double major at the University of Richmond. Last semester, I was asked to join the Style Guru team at CollegeFashionista. This spring semester, I’m hoping to bring you even more of the amazing fashion my fellow students have to offer.

I grew up with history in my backyard and rallies on my front steps, being originally from Washington D.C. A legacy at the University of Richmond (my brother was also a Spider), I chose UR for it’s people. Between its intelligent student body and professors that actually know your name, my campus is my second home. The friends I have made have become my family and the sisters I have gained through my sorority, Pi Beta Phi, have made my undergraduate years indispensable. I even argue that the reason I don’t just show up to class in sweats is directly linked to how fashionable my classmates are.

As far as style goes, I characterize myself as classic, elegant-chic. I love a simple white, cashmere top with a comfortable pair of J.Crew riding pants (I have three different colors in these). For warmth on chilly days before the warmth fully comes  back, I opt for this Zara coat, a touch of style and utility. My favorite Tory Burch boots are a staple of most of my outfits around campus. No outfit is left without accessorizing for me; I love subtle jewelry that makes a constant appearance in my daily wardrobe. This David Yurman ring I was given by my dad can be seen nearly everyday for just about any outfit. This spring, you’ll see me in comfy flats, button-ups, and neutral skirts while maneuvering life on campus as a second-semester sophomore. My go-to stores rarely change: J.Crew, Madewell, Anthropologie and Topshop.

Here’s to warmer mornings and sunny afternoons. I cannot wait to show off the spring-ready Fashionistos/as my school has to offer.
