STYLE GURU BIO: Maggie Trom

Hello and HAPPY NEW YEAR LOVELYS! My name is Maggie and I am from Austin, Minnesota. I am going to school in Duluth, Minnesota and trying to stay warm! I absolutely love my life in Duluth, especially if I am adventuring Lake Superior with my friends, taking pictures, discovering new coffee shops, or just laying in bed watching Gilmore Girls. Fashion is one thing that I love to follow and keep up with. I always like to create new outfits and look my best every day (well, I try at least).

2016 was a great year of fashion statements and I can’t wait to find new ones in 2017! This past year, a LOT of different trends have become extremely popular or came back in style. Chokers, velvet, faux fur, matte colors, rose gold, and many others that will make 2017 difficult to top. This year went by SO fast and I cannot believe it is already time to start thinking about spring clothing. Although this is technically the spring semester, the outfit I put together for this post is more winter-friendly since here in Minnesota it is still in the dead of winter.

If you have been following me from when I started in the summer time, you know that I like to keep my outfits nice and simple. This time though, I tried something a little more fun that expresses my style really well.

This dress that I got from Forever21 is a cute velvet cocktail dress. The color is nice mauve and goes with a lot of other colors. The belt that I tied around the dress does not come with the dress, I just thought it added a nice touch. However, I didn’t like how it looked without something under it, so I put a mesh shirt underneath from H&M which worked out well because it matched my tights. What I love most about the dress is the straps in the back. They just put another playful element into the outfit. You can’t really tell what the shoes are, but they are black Chelsea boots that I got from Target and I love them! These are definitely something every girl should have in their wardrobe because they go with almost every outfit that I put together.

To stay updated on spring fashion this year keep following my articles, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat.
