Hello, hello! My name is Lauren and I am a sophomore at Mississippi State University majoring in communications with concentrations in journalism and broadcast Journalism and minoring in public relations. This is my first semester as a Style Guru, and I am so excited and grateful for this opportunity! I am so happy to get to combine my love of writing with my love of fashion.
When I’m not in class, I can usually be found online shopping or getting a late night snack. I love The Walking Dead, cats, concerts, and anything that sparkles. Like all my other twenty-something year old friends, I love Netflix binges and social media. I find inspiration from Instagram-savvy Fashionistas like Tessa Barton (thanks for inspiring these sassy embellished booties) and iconic characters like Carrie Bradshaw. Their confidence inspires me to be bold and wear whatever makes me feel good.
I dream of living in a big busy place like Manhattan or Los Angeles, but Starkville, Mississippi has my heart for now. It’s 70+ degrees for nine months of the year in the south, so this denim jacket is a perfect every day go-to. It’s such a great piece to layer over a graphic T-shirt to go to class in. I love bold makeup looks, and I’ve been obsessing over ColourPop’s Ultra Matte Lip all semester. It stays on all day no matter how many iced coffees I drink.
I think being confident and expressing yourself through your personal style is so important, and I am beyond excited to be a part of a community that does just that. Here’s to a #RAD semester, CollegeFashionista!
