Hello, Fashionistas!
Thank you for checking out my Style Guru Bio. I had so much fun working with CollegeFashionista during the fall. One of my favorite experiences was when Amy Levin and Katie Fabry came to the University of Florida for Sole Sessions X CF. It was so rewarding to work with them and other Style Gurus to put on the event, featuring Steve Madden on our campus. I become more inspired by the CollegeFashionista team as they continue to help students from across the country work toward their aspirations in fashion or editorial fields. Looking back to when I started attending the University of Florida, I can also say that interning for this company has also helped direct my personal style from overdone, glittery costume jewelry and neon tops, to a more edited, refined wardrobe.
Last semester, I became more interested in Parisian style. This could be attributed to my choice to minor in the language or the articles on “How to be a French Girl” that filled my inbox from my Vogue.com subscription (of course, I read every one). When I watched a British Vogue video that went into Caroline de Maigret’s closet, I adored her sophisticated mix of basics that she could wear “all the time, again, and again.” A few of my favorite items from her enviable collection included a Le Smoking jacket, a vintage Yves Saint Laurent dress, and black jumpsuit. To me, the most attractive quality about Parisian fashion is that it is founded on timeless pieces that can be mixed and matched to create many outfit combinations.
For this Style Guru Bio, I wore a blue shirtdress. While it may not seem too Parisian, I chose it for its clean silhouette and subdued color palette that can be worn from season to season. I completed the outfit with black pumps and a black French Connection tote.
