STYLE GURU BIO: Isabella Meraz

Hi all! My name is Isabella, or Isa as many of my close friends call me, and I am currently a sophomore at the University of Oregon studying public relations with a minor in business administration and Spanish. This is my first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and I am so excited for the opportunity that I have been given!  I have always had a love for fashion and I often find myself receiving style inspiration from celebrities to students around campus. I grew up in a small rural town and I wasn’t exposed to fashion as much as I am at the University of Oregon. I love being able to walk around campus and see what pieces of clothing other students are sporting.

There are multiple ways that people are able to express themselves and I am a firm believer that fashion is a very influential way for people to showcase their personality. It’s quite entertaining, or at least in my case, to see what I was wearing in the beginning of my high school days to now. As I have grown older, I have found my sense of style and what makes me feel confident.

For this article I wanted to wear some of my favorite pieces of clothing. I wore my favorite pair of distressed high-waisted skinny jeans, and these are my favorite because they can simply either dress up/down an outfit. I paired the jeans with a loose fitted top. I love this top because of the neck detail that gives an edgy vibe. I threw on a camo jacket because I wanted to add some pattern/color to the outfit.

Adding accessories is one of my favorite parts of styling myself and small details like rings, watches, earrings, necklaces, etc. can transform an outfit to the exact way you like it. This layered necklace adds nice detail to a plain-colored shirt that I am wearing. I tend to do a lot of walking around campus and these are probably my most comfortable pair of booties that I have ever owned. The heel on the bootie is the perfect height which makes everyday travel a breeze.

Having an internship for CollegeFashionista is amazing, and I can’t wait to show you more about what fellow students are wearing around the University of Oregon campus!
