Hi there everyone! My name is Erika Mia Roxas Elechicon, but you can call me Erika. I’m a fourth-year communication student at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT, hoping to graduate in May of 2017. I’m very excited to be a Style Guru for this spring semester, as fashion is something that has always been close to my heart as a way for me to express myself. This definitely came out of growing up and going to a school that required a school uniform every day for almost 10 years.
Through the years I’ve learned that everyone has different hats they wear in their every day lives. There are some times that you’re more professional, like when you attend important meetings or go on that interview for your first job, and times when you’re more casual, like when you’re hanging out with your friends or going to the latest basketball game to cheer on your school’s team.
This is an outfit that I’ve put together using pieces that are affordable enough for a Fashionista on a budget, while also being stylish and professional enough to land you that dream internship or job. All of these pieces are new, but to keep costs low, I’ve been known to frequent thrift stores with clothes that are as good as what you would buy at your local mall. The jacket is a new piece from European-favored Primark that is definitely the finishing touch on the whole outfit. The sleeveless mock-neck top is from Stradivarius, while the trousers and sunglasses are from Marshalls.
