Culottes have been a lingering trend for several seasons now. At first glance I totally dismissed the trend, thinking the wide leg pant would overpower my petite frame. As years have gone by, they have gone from an iffy trend to a staple piece to incorporate into your wardrobe. Finally I’ve decided to partake in the trend just in time for fall!

Denim is a classic that has always been an everyday symbol of style. Everyone’s favorite material is hotter than ever and is no longer limited to just jeans. I was on the hunt for the perfect pair of culottes for this fall, and when I came across this contemporary denim romper it was love at first sight. I was unexpectedly impressed with how flattering the jumpsuit looked on. The tied belt lands above my natural hips, which defines my waistline and gives me legs for days. Frayed edges and cropped hemlines are also a top trend in the denim department this year. The square neckline and white stitching add some extra detail to the jumper.

This outfit was inspired by Rachel Comey’s fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection. Her collection has a contemporary aesthetic and is largely made up of culotte and trouser ensembles. I styled this outfit with a leather cross-body purse. The floral embossing adds a feminine flare to the structured jumpsuit. I paired this outfit with chunky mule sandals. This platform style heel is prevalent this season and can be paired with just about anything.

I went light on the accessories, as I always do, in order to maintain my classic and minimalistic aesthetic. Personally, I have always thought less is more! This jumpsuit is a sophisticated piece that can be styled for almost any occasion. It also puts a twist on this season’s hot culotte trend. I cannot wait to flaunt this outfit on an autumn afternoon!
