STYLE GURU BIO: Emily Myint

Hey, readers! I am so excited to be starting this fall as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. My name is Emily Myint and I am a sophomore at San Diego State University. I am currently majoring in journalism & media studies with a minor in television, film & new media. Some fun facts about me are that I love the color pink, I’m from Chicago, I have danced my entire life and my favorite food is sushi. You can usually find me studying on campus at Starbucks, hanging out with my friends, shopping, at the beach or in my bed watching Netflix.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved clothes and fashion. I remember watching different television shows with my mom and seeing all of the different types of clothing these people would wear. Fashion is something that is extremely important to me because I use it every single day of my life. Each morning when I wake up, I walk to my closet and ask myself what I am going to wear that day. Clothing gives me confidence and makes me feel good about myself, which is a great feeling. I think that outfits give everyone a chance to be unique and to be their own person. That is why I absolutely love fashion and what people are able to gain and take away from it.

I would say that my fashion sense can run anywhere from fancy and dressed up to chill and casual. Depending on the day, you can see me in a lot of different outfits. In this particular look that is showcased here, I am wearing a ruffled romper that I purchased at Charlotte Russe paired with nude heels from GUESS. I also paired it with a gold necklace that I borrowed from my friend and two of my favorite gold Alex and Ani bracelets. I would consider this look one of my fancier outfits and I would wear this out to a nice dinner in downtown Chicago with my friends. On other days where I am not so dressed up, I enjoy wearing high-waisted denim shorts, cute fitted shirts or casual dresses.

So there is a little background information about me, and I hope you all enjoyed it! I am beyond excited to start this journey with CollegeFashionista and I cannot wait for all of you to take the ride with me!
