STYLE GURU BIO: Elizabeth Phan

Goodbye 2014 and hello 2015! Hi guys and gals. My name is Elizabeth Phan and I am a freshman at the University of North Texas. This is will be my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionsta and I could not be anymore excited. My first semester as a Style Guru was a great experience. Unfortunately, I could have been a better guru for my readers. I was juggling school while still transitioning into the college lifestyle. Thankfully, I have been chosen again for this semester and I can not wait to share with you all the Fashionistos and Fashionistas that attend my university.

Like I have said before, I am a freshman in college. Coming in, I didn’t expect it to be so free. My parents hardly called me too. It was easy for me to get adjusted and comfortable at my home away from home. My biggest struggle for my first semester in college were my grades. I came in as a business major, therefore, my classes were based on that route. My heart was not 100 percent in it and I did not do as well in my business classes *cough cough* math is not my best subject. That affected my GPA, but no worries because I did have great accomplishments. One of them was becoming a part of UNT Greek Life by joining a sorority. I am a part of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sisterhood. We the owl, the key and the fleur-de-lis, represent the blue and blue. What makes me love the sorority even more is that a handful of girls are majoring in certain fields of fashion, which brings me to another great accomplishment. After accepting the fact that I was terrible in math, CollegeFashionista helped me pursue my true calling. I changed my major to Fashion Merchandising and also became a marketing minor. Leaving the administration building after changing my major, I never felt so whole and relaxed. I have to thank CollegeFashionista for helping me get to where I am now. This unique internship opportunity was a great step for me and combines everything that I love in one.

This spring semester as a Style Guru, I am looking to search beyond the campus finding the hottest of fashionistas and fashionistos. I also plan to rejuvenate my closet. New year, new me? Not entirely, just a better me with a new wardrobe of course. I have been online shopping more and my favorite online store at the moment is sheinside.com. This place offers cute clothing and great accessories at great prices. One accessory that I recently bought is a transparent clutch. I will be wearing this on the scene more often. It would have looked amazing with this outfit. I am in love with lace and I absolutely love this white lace sleeveless tee. It’s not see through, thank goodness, but the perfect coverage and perfect top to wear on a hot day. Shorts are my favorite bottoms too. There are so many ways to wear shorts, different designs and many different colors. What I like most about the pair of shorts pictured today is the fabric use: soft, free-flowing and polka dots.

You can also check out more of my outfits and other people’s outfits on my blog HerStyleAnatomy, a fashion and lifestyle blog.

I can’t wait for what the new season and new year has in store. Exciting new trends will be all around campus and it is my job to share them with you all. I already told you all once, North Texas better be runway ready because I am more than thrilled to start posting about my passion. Show me what we’re working with!
