Hello Fashionista/os and welcome to my page! My name is Carli Schmidt and I am a rising junior at Boston University studying communications, specifically magazine journalism. I am an extremely active member of my campus, being the editor-in-chief of Off The Cuff magazine (BU’s only award winning fashion and art publication), a resident assistant for Bay State Road, working two on-campus jobs and now becoming a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista—it’s definitely going to be a #RAD, and probably sleepless, semester!
My “passion for fashion” started at a young age with an extremely popular toy named Barbie. Until around fourth grade, I was not allowed to dress myself, instead using Barbie, Polly-Pocket and Bratz dolls as my receptacles for fashion exploration; Barbie fashion shows were a favorite in the Schmidt house. While the days of doll fashion shows are long gone, that passion and complete joy I felt as a seven-year-old holds strong today, especially through working with Off The Cuff and our wonderful (and real) models.
While I still love Barbie, my current obsessions include iced coffee, leather jackets, the pursuit of the perfect pair of jeans, hours of YouTube watching, Amy Poehler’s book Yes Please, decorating my new room and of course, CollegeFashionista! I am not a morning person—correction, I am not a person—until I have coffee. I am the new and proud owner of a Keurig. Not a single-cup brewer either, but that hefty guy you only fill with water once a week.
Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Twitter, I love the support. Thank you for reading my page and stay stylish, my friends!
