STYLE GURU BIO: Brianna Nailah

Hello Fashionistas/os! I remember vividly my first introduction into the fashion world–as I’m sure many of you probably can. On my 10th birthday my grandmother gave me a tiny, hot pink, plastic sewing machine. Since then I have been hooked on everything fashion. I indulged in The Style Network from dusk to dawn, ordered Vogue and W Magazine on my mom’s credit card and wrote my own fashion manuals.

Back then, I dreamt of being a fashion designer. I have now ditched that dream but still dream to inspire the world with the looks (not outfits) I create for myself as well as others. I want to  become a creative director, as well as style and be a top consultant for designers, magazines and influencers in the industry.

Until then, I am pursuing a degree in emerging media with a minor in fashion design at Bowie State University in southern Maryland. I am working toward my dreams by working at a well known boutique in Washington, DC, interning with DC Fashion Week and creating content for my YouTube Channel.

I would describe my style as monochromatic, minimal and classic with touches of boho and street elements here and there. Looking to re-create my go to look and style? All you need is plenty of white button-ups and T-shirts and easy garments like rompers and dresses. I keep colors and jewelry to a minimal, but that’s just me! Looking for inspiration? I love Solange Knowles, Vashtie Kola and Rihanna for inspiration. I also look to stylists like Monica Rose and Aleali May. You will find me stalking their Instagram accounts at anytime of the day or night!

I look forward to spending the rest of the semester with you all!
