Well hello, Fashionistas/os!

I am super excited to become a part of this Fashionista team. I am still overwhelmed, as you may imagine. Okay then, let me now introduce myself. My name is Anita Kalafati and l am a junior at Manchester Metropolitan University studying Fashion Buying and Merchandising.

I am originally from sunny Greece and moved to the UK eight years ago. Let me tell you, l miss the weather (my fellow UK students will understand what l mean).

Here are some interesting facts about myself: buy me shoes and l will do anything for you (literally anything). I’m obsessed with exercise/love keeping fit. I love white chocolate; I don’t think any girl can resist chocolate, and if you can, please help me. My favorite movie is The Notebook, especially  because of Ryan Gosling. I also enjoy making homemade face masks—trust me, l know some great recipes. Last but not least, If you have seen the movie the Confession of a Shopaholic, that’s basically me.

Now let’s get to the fun part, which is fashion. My style has changed dramatically since l was  a child, even if you can’t believe it. l was definitely the tomboy of the house, wearing tracksuits, T-shirts and trainers. You definitely would not have sees me in dresses those days.

My style over the years has been partially influenced by the style icon Audrey Hepburn, as l love getting dressed up in elegant, tailored clothes. On others days, I prefer to wear more simple clothes with a color palette influenced directly from the 1960s.

To get my look, you’ll need a waistcoat, gray maxi shortst and slingback mules. Finally, accessorize with a fedora hat.

As Audrey Hepburn once said: “Elegance is the only beauty that’s never fades away.”
