STYLE GURU BIO: Anacorina (Cora) Velasco

My name is Anacorina Velasco, but everyone calls me Cora and I am a Senior at Winona State University majoring in Business Administration; my ultimate dream is to work on TV and host my own show. I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. I was very lucky to grow up surrounded by beautiful women, an exquisite culture and a crazy amount of fashionable local designers. My mom has always had a passion for fashion (I know, it rhymes, definitely did it on purpose); she would roam the festivals around my city to find a new local designer that would take her wardrobe to a whole new level. I grew up to develop the same passion.

My personal style can be represented with some washed Levi Brand jeans and a white T-shirt from Old Navy. I am a huge fan of Carolina Herrera, and I heard her say in an interview when I was eight years old that a pair of jeans and a white top could take you places. My style is simple and I will always pick a solid color over a pattern and a pair of jeans over a skirt, but dressing up is in my blood so we are about to have a lot of fun this semester!

I cannot wait to share with all of you different styles and outfits from the beautiful people in Winona. Style is about expressing yourself, which makes us unique in a way that cannot be shown in any other way. The way a person presents himself or herself tells a story; those are the stories I always want to hear. Sharing those stories through Fashionistas/os is the most exciting part about this internship.
