Hey there, I am Alicia Lee. I am a senior and graduating in May, with a major in Apparel Merchandising and Product Development. I currently attend the University of Arkansas and use Fayetteville, Arkansas as my home-base for fashion inspiration.
Going to college meant meeting new people from all over the world. All of those people I have met have such different tastes, plans and inspiration than I do.
Fashion is a lot of different things to a lot of different people, and I never really understood that until I left my sheltered world and went to college. Although Arkansas is still pretty sheltered, I learned a lot about myself through the fashion program.
I used to think that fashion meant copying everything celebrities wore with no deviation. While I was stuck with those thoughts, I wasn’t able to find myself or my truth. Fashion is art, and art is always changing and can’t be defined by singular tastes. Fashion to me, is a description of one’s self. I am creative and fun. I am outgoing and friendly. I am open and honest. The clothes I wear reflect who I am. I love to feel girly and fun, and I love to play and to love.
This semester, I am on a quest for self-discovery. I want to give and I want to be all that I can be. CollegeFashionista is an outlet for me to share the very definition of who I am through fashion.
