Hello all and happy 2017!
I’m Alexa Mendoza, and I’m currently a 19-year-old sophomore at Cerritos College in Southern California. This spring semester will be my second with CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru, and my very first semester as a Social Media Intern! I honestly fell in love with my entire CollegeFashionista experience in the fall that I just had to come back.
Having been raised in Southern California my entire life, I’ve grown to love the weather and the diversity surrounding me at all times, but it’s also always been a dream of mine to travel to and experience other states in the U.S.—New York in particular. This past winter break, luckily, I finally got the chance to do so! I packed my bags—which by the way were far too many than I really needed—and made my way towards the city that instantly stole my heart. I’m currently a graphic design major in search of transferring to an art/fashion school in New York, so getting the chance to explore the city really inspired me to keep working hard towards my goal and possibly ending up in a cute and cozy apartment in the near future.
As for a little bit about my interests, I’m a big fan of coloring books, grilled chicken, late-night adventures and my favorite seasons fashion-wise are fall and winter. This outfit in particular is one of my favorites, as both the color-block cape and trendy over-the-knee boots do quite the job in keeping me warm in such harsh weather. I also like to carry around a tote bag and keeping everything inside it neatly organized for my adventures.
I’m beyond excited to see what 2017 has in store for me, and I also cannot wait to connect with more of my fellow Fashionista/os throughout the year.
