STYLE GURU BIO: Addie Weaver

Hey guys! My name is Addie and I am going to be a junior this fall at Florida State University majoring in Retail Merchandising and Product Development and minoring in Marketing. I hope to attend graduate school in New York or California and pursue a career as a personal fashion stylist, a dream inspired by the TV show What Not to Wear. I love all things fashion and I am very excited to start my journey as a Style Guru.

Growing up in Orlando, Florida gave me exposure to all sorts of different styles and culture, not to mention it is great for shopping. I started college with an undecided major and I spent my first semester at Valencia College. When I saw that Florida State offered a retail major, I dropped everything and moved to Tallahassee, which was the best decision of my life.

Along with fashion, I also love photography, another reason why I feel like I’m going to really enjoy being a Style Guru. I love taking pictures of everyday things and making them look beautiful, as well as analyzing pictures and finding a meaning behind them. Some of my other interests include working out, writing and just being outside. Florida weather is great for the days I feel like just taking a walk and taking in my surroundings, until it decides to randomly storm for 20 minutes. I’m also a coffee addict. I can’t get my day started unless I have a cup, or four. It’s okay though because a coffee mug goes great with any outfit.

Throughout the years, my style has changed a lot, but the one thing that didn’t change was my love for fashion. No matter what kind of style I had I would always carefully plan each outfit and make sure I had the perfect accessories to match, whether it was neon pants and band shirts or pastel skirts and statement necklaces. I get my inspiration from anywhere and everywhere: magazines, walking around the mall, Tumblr and shows like Project Runway. I really want to meet Tim Gunn one day.

I’d like to think of my current style as very versatile. It can be classy and preppy or bohemian and vintage.  The look in my pictures showcases a combination of the two.  This is one of my go-to outfits. It’s great for dinner, job interviews or just a day out in town. Some of my other favorite pieces include skater dresses, high-waisted shorts and crop tops. In addition, you’ll rarely see me without lipstick and my sunglasses.

I’m looking forward to sharing my articles with you all!
