STYLE ADVICE: Winter’s Tail End

Toronto experienced some unseasonably warm temperatures in the last few weeks. Much like the weather, emotions have been running high among students this midterm season, and rightly so. We have entered the most hectic portion of the semester. We’re juggling test preps, group projects, dissertations, and personal lives. The struggle is very real right now for university students. I ran into this student as she was making her way to a test. But you wouldn’t be able to tell by how she’s carrying herself, which is chill as can be.

It seems this Fashionista has it all figured out. She is wearing a purple mock neck sweater under a suede Sherpa jacket with floral embroidery—undeniably the statement piece of the entire look. This is a case where floral is groundbreaking. She completed her outfit with a pair of classic blue jeans, slightly folded at the legs, and a pair of brown boots. The last thing you want to feel is discomfort when you are heading to a test or exam that is worth a good chunk of your final grade. So, this is a perfect look to tackle the last quarter of the school year. It’s hassle-free and comfortable to boot (pun intended!)

If you’re in pursuit of a jacket with as much character as the one she’s donning, start the hunt at your local thrift or consignment store. It’s your best bet for finding a piece that is both in your budget and one-of-a-kind. One great piece is all it takes to make you stand out from the crowd.
