STYLE ADVICE: Taking Risks and Aggressively Shopping Sales

One of my best friends has given me so much fashion advice and helped me develop my style. This femme fatale knows everything there possibly is to know about fashion. She has bestowed all of her fashion knowledge onto me. So, without further ado, I now present you with Rachel’s top two fashion tips!

Number One: Take fashion risks! Her light pink lace up flats are an example of a risk went well. While at the mall one day, Rachel was able to snag the shoes. We thought the shoes were risky, but she rocked them anyway. The shoes received multiple compliments throughout the night. The moral of this long-winded story is: fashion risks can totally pay off! Even if it turns out to be a total nightmare, you will be known as the girl who is not afraid to try out something new.

Number Two: Your favorite brands are too expensive? Shop the sales! One of our favorite brands is Lilly Pulitzer. However, the clothes are ridiculously expensive, and it is impossible to purchase anything for full price on a college student’s budget. However, twice a year there is an amazing Lilly Pulitzer sale. A lot of items are more than 50 percent off! Another amazing, yet expensive brand is Vera Bradley. Luckily, they have big sales more frequently than Lilly. A great Rachel tip: shop the sales aggressively (especially Lilly Pulitzer) or else you will not be able to grab what you want! Other sales include multiple end-of-summer sales (for preppy brands such as Vineyard Vines and Southern Tide), a multitude of semi-annual sales (Victoria’s Secret, Nordstrom, Forever 21, etc.), and the Kate Spade Surprise Sale (up to 70 percent off!).

These tips have majorly helped my fashion journey, and hopefully they will benefit you, too! À tout à l’heure!
