STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Wild Thing

There are many trends that leave and make a comeback again and again. A great example of this would be leopard prints. Yes, this is a trend that has to be done right because of its loud nature. It is fairly easy to over do, which will leave you looking like you are dressed for Halloween. I know a lot of people are excited to about this comeback, but before you get carried away with the animal prints, here some simple ideas on how to not over do it.

You should know this trend started a long time ago, and it was strictly for royals and people who wanted to show their status. This trend made it big in the United States in the late ’60s as a part of the bohemian movement. This trend has always been about making a statement and standing out. This doesn’t mean you have to walk around in leopard print to make a statement. Smaller doses of animal print can give you a chicer look.

This week’s Fashionista gives us some tips on how to do leopard print without overdoing it. This Fashionista decided to add her animal print with a sleeveless blouse in a leopard print. To tone down the print, she paired the whole outfit with black elements. Her high heels and her Michael Kors medium satchel were black, and this made sure that the leopard was the only stand out detail. She even made sure her jeans were in a dark blue tone. Pairing up any animal print with a neutral color will make it simple and keep it chic. For a lighter day, go for more beiges or whites. And if you don’t feel comfortable in an animal print in your shirt or pants/skirt, just do a detail like a pair of shoes or clutch.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Keep it simple! Make sure you have a lot of basic pieces that you can mix and match with statement pieces. It makes life easy.”
