STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Turtlenecks More Manly Than Ever

December 1st, 2015 at 2:10am

With the weather getting colder everyone’s finding themselves taking out their chunky sweaters. Some guys may find turtlenecks a hard thing to pull off but this Fashionisto did it perfectly. He wore his turtleneck to give off a punk rock vibe.

Turtlenecks are definitely a fad for guys this winter and this chunky turtleneck was paired with dark colors. The sweater is $10 dollars and from LTrain Vintage in East Village. Keeping his outfit pretty simple, he wore a plain black VFiles hat which is a brand/company in SoHo that meshes fashion, music and art through social media. To play off the punk rock vibe he cut the bottoms of his gray Topman stretch skinny jeans with scissors so that they would fray. He finished the look by pairing it with worn-in John Varvatos black leather chukkas.

I loved this Fashionistos look very simple and easy to put together, keeping the colors dark with straight leg jeans and black combat style boots. The oversized sweater with long arms draping over the tight straight leg jeans was perfect.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Style at the moment for me is grimy with a hint of class, or vice versa depending on the situation (think Kurt Cobain if he had to be the lead singer of One Direction). Compliments are nice, but at the end of the day it’s my personal opinion as to how I think I look, and if I’m confident wearing it that’s the only thing that matters.”
