STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Totally Tea-length

We’ve all been through the mini skirt phase and the maxi skirt phase, so what could be next? Well, the answer lies in-between; tea-length skirts have made a name in new fashion trends. Available in all sorts of colors, patterns and textures, this fad is versatile for any style or occasion. Think you’re ready to tackle the tea-length?

When thinking of this trend, I think of a classic element that has shown prevalence in all different eras. Classy and conservative women in the 1960s often wore tea-length skirts; young Carrie Bradshaw’s wardrobe in The Carrie Diaries was always filled with a myriad of fashion-forward skirts sporting a longer length. New textures and patterns are constantly creating new looks and shapes for this classic style. Whether classic, bohemian or spunky, this skirt length is a great addition to have in any closet this spring.

So how does one wear such a unique length? Check out this Fashionista’s look for one of many ways. A simple black T-shirt allows for her patterned skirt to remain the main element in her look. Her skirt has the perfect amount of movement for a sunny spring day and has an antique feel. Strappy sandals keep things simple. Bohemian-inspired jewelry adds perfect accents and completes this vintage look.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “My main focus with skirts is comfort. I think longer skirts are great wardrobe pieces because you can dress them up or wear them casually, which is always fun.”
