STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Think Spring!

April 13th, 2015 at 2:00am

The very best thing about winter is knowing that it won’t last forever and remembering that spring is always just around the corner. This thought keeps me going through all the frigid temperatures, heavy coats and dreary outfits. With winter now behind us, I see the signs of spring everywhere I look. The weather is warming up, and the colors, patterns and designs of a new season are upon us. This Fashionista caught my eye because she embodied everything I was looking for as I imagined the new beginnings of this time of year.

Check out this perfect springtime outfit! The first element that attracted me is the bright array of pastel colors, and the overall floral pattern of the design. I love the multiple colors in the dress, the sleeveless cut and the sassy, flowing look at the bottom. The dress exudes the feel of spring. The entire outfit is complete from head to toe with accessories, a cross-body purse, that extends the line of the look, and stylish nude flats. From the silver earrings, silver and black pin and gold and silver watch, this Fashionista put together the total spring look. She even topped it off with blue nail polish to match the aquamarine floral print of her dress. Just the look of this ensemble brings a smile to your face, and it did the same for this Fashionista!

The final feature that makes this style so perfect is the cross-body purse. It pulls the entire look together by incorporating the gold tones of her watch, and drawing your eyes across the body in a way that accentuates the entire outfit. A shoulder-strap purse would not have had the same dramatic effect. This Fashionista stood out on campus, and was an inspiration for many of us yearning to put the springtime touches to our outfits.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Think spring! When I went to choose an outfit today, all I could think of was that winter was gone! I wanted to put something on that reminded me of all the colors of spring. Try it! I guarantee it will brighten your day.”
