STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Summer Is For Simplicity

I know that I am definitely guilty of overdoing an outfit. In fashion, it is so easy to believe that in order to be interesting or unique, one has to have a lot going on in their outfit. However, I am here to say that the concept of creating an exciting outfit does not require five different statement pieces. Some of the best outfits are those that stick to a few key items. These outfits focus on looking crisp, clean and simple. Plus, isn’t that what summer is all about? Simplicity and relaxation are the key elements of summer, and I think this outfit would fit perfectly into the ideal summer day.

This Fashionista centers her look around this floral, off-the-shoulder romper. The elements of the ruffled, body-hugging upper half with the flowing bottom half and the graphic floral print help this Fashionista standout without the need for many more elements to the look. She adds some interest with her dainty jewelry and keeps the look clean with some black T-strap sandals. This look is both simple yet stylish and could be worn for any occasion: summer job, coffee date or a girl’s night out. Either way, there aren’t bothersome layers to mess with or too many statement pieces to distract the viewer.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Do not be afraid to make a statement with a minimal look. A simplistic look does not mean minimal effort. Some of the best looks focus on one unique piece and the rest falls in place. Do not waste time this summer trying to create a complex look, rather keep it fresh and clean!”
