School is in full swing and people are in their โbest looksโ phase. Many of you might be looking for some guidance. Luckily, I found a Fashionista that has enough style to share. This week I had the pleasure of documenting the style of this Fashionista; A 22-year-old international science student with an inclination for grunge chic. Originally from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, sheโs always had a strong opinion on fashion and aesthetics. So whether itโs going out on the town or simply going to class, itโs her policy to always look good. Sheโs a die-hard believer in never sacrificing style for comfort, and like something out of her physics book, she holds her looks to a paradoxical standard.
While she may follow and acknowledge current trends, she makes it a point to put her own spin on them. Specifically, she likes to combine formal and informal pieces to create a balanced yet contrasting outfit. For example, the outfit sheโs featured in consists of some prim choices sprinkled among other nonchalant pieces. She starts off the outfit with some structure by choosing a proper pair of black Zara Loafers. Then she mixes it up with a pair of DIY Forever 21 black wash jeans. By making her own holes and cuffing them, she ensures a look thatโs unique to her. She pairs that up with a mahogany salmon H&M long ducktail shirt. She adds a moto jacket from Zara to grunge up the outfit. Lastly, she dawns a light coat of authoritative style by choosing a pair of Aldo tortoise new-age reflector sunglasses.
Itโs easy to see that this Fashionista unapologetically follows her own rules and looks good doing it. Like Iโve said in the past, I think fashion is best left in the hands of the individual. Just like art, fashion shouldnโt be a democracy but rather a medium of self expression.
